Fintech company Pipe is looking to accelerate its growth plans with the appointment of Vijay Vachani as its new chief revenue officer, who will lead global partnerships and merchant sales teams.

Vachani was most recently global head of partnerships at digital payments platform Square. Prior to Square, he spent seven years at Adobe, notably building out its Creative Cloud product. Pipe’s CEO Luke Voiles called him “a respected and visionary go-to-market leader who has deep experience building and scaling global businesses.”

“Pipe’s model is transforming how small businesses access capital and how partners deliver financial products that strengthen their platforms,” Vachani said in a statement. “What excites me most though is Pipe’s drive to innovate with empathy and solve real challenges for small businesses.”

Growth period: Pipe partners with software platforms to deliver embedded capital and financial tools to small businesses, and it’s had a busy year. In April, it acquired AI-powered expense management platform Glean.ai, and this month it struck a partnership with Uber Eats to integrate its technology into the platform.

Last year, Pipe launched its embedded OS for small businesses, now available in the US, Canada, and the UK.
